Email Scam Affecting Millions of Netflix Users
Recently, there has been a new phishing scam targeting Netflix users that has been affecting over 100 million customers. The email tells the customer that their account has been suspended and directs them to follow a link to regain access to their account. This link then prompts users to sign into their account through a fake Netflix portal and prompts them to enter their billing information.
Many phishing scams like this have been plaguing consumers since hackers have been able to almost completely replicate real emails and sign in portals. There are a few things that you can do to arm yourself against these messages. The first is to check the email address of the sender for things such as spelling errors or odd phrasing. Another is to compare suspicious emails to ones from the actual company for discrepancies. The best piece of advice is to avoid emails such as these all together if you suspect something is suspicious about it.
It is important to educate yourself and your employees about the dangers of these emails in order to keep your company’s data safe and secure.
