Risk Management Saves Millions

Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal came under fire for privatizing portions of the state government’s responsibilities. But since his administration hired a private sector Risk Management Firm, almost $16 million has been saved. The state brokered a deal with a local firm to take over responsibilities from the State Office of Risk Management. Only three years into the five year contract, the overall savings for the State of Louisiana are expected to reach, and possibly exceed, $22 million. Governor Jindal now appears justified in his desire to incorporate private sector companies into government projects, to maximize efficiency and saving.
